Comedian J.B. Smoove is co-star to Zendaya and Tom Holland in the Spider-Man films, so he’s been able to observe their relationship first hand. And he’s a fan. Smoove and his wife Shahidah Omar attended the American Music Awards at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles last weekend; while on the red carpet he told ET‘s Cassie DiLaura “Oh, I love those two. I love them so much.”
He added that they were “the most adorable couple ever in the history of adorableness.”
Then Smoove offered a little romantic advice, as an older married man.
“Have time for love but have time for laughter,” he said. “Laughter. Smiles. Stress-free lifestyle, you know. Find out about each other and find some way to keep watering that seed and keep growing and growing.”
That does sound like something a comedian would suggest, but it works for anyone. Rumors that Zendaya and Tom Holland were dating have been circulating since 2017, when they went on their Spider-Man press tour. This summer, Page Six shared photos of them kissing in a car at a red light in Los Angeles close to Zendaya’s mother’s house, who they visited together. Zendaya, at least, regrets that their relationship is no longer so private.
In an interview with GQ, Zendaya said, “The equal sentiment [we both share] is just that when you really love and care about somebody, some moments or things, you wish were your own… I think loving someone is a sacred thing and a special thing and something that you want to deal with and go through and experience and enjoy amongst the two people that love each other.”
People knowing about their relationship also leaves them open to comments about it, like when Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya’s co-star in Dune, teased her about Holland. While promoting their film, they answered questions about each other for a Buzzfeed quiz. One question was who their biggest celebrity crush is.
“Easy, Tom Holland,” Chalamet answered for Zendaya, making her giggle. She and Holland are, in fact, pretty adorable.
