The show starts at 9am ET.
On October 15, Michael Kors will present his Spring/Summer 2021 collection digitally – and we’ve got your front row seat to all the action.
The digital show format is the first of its kind for the American brand, and comes after Kors decided to opt out of the traditional fashion calendar (he normally shows during NYFW). Back in June, Kors announced he will only present two collections per year for his namesake brand – one for spring/summer and the other for fall/winter. At the time, he also announced that the deliveries of these collections would happen “incrementally” over the season so as to “more closely [reflect] how customers in today’s world actually live and shop.”
Speaking of his decision, Kors said, “I have for a long time thought that the fashion calendar needs to change. It’s exciting for me to see the open dialogue within the fashion community about the calendar – from Giorgio Armani to Gucci to YSL to major retailers around the globe – about ways in which we can slow down the process and improve the way we work. We’ve all had time to reflect and analyze things, and I think many agree that it’s time for a new approach for a new era.”
Tomorrow at 9am ET, that new approach will begin. The livestream (which you can watch below) will begin with a film, titled Up On The Roof, which will explore Kors’ inspiration for the Spring 2021 collection. At the end of the film, the virtual runway show will commence.
