It turns out the 2020 pandemic is providing parents with even more handmade keepsakes to stow away and show off to their children’s friends in the future. On her Instagram, Blake Lively posted a selfie in which she and Ryan Reynolds are both wearing face masks decorated by their young daughters.

“We won’t embarrass them at all in middle school,” Lively wrote under a photo of her and her husband showing off the masks.

In a second photo, Lively shared that her daughters had decorated the masks with a kit by The Craft Studio NYC. “This is not an ad,” she wrote. “These kits are awesome. Also love that @craftstudionyc is owned by a mama.”

This artwork was likely done by the couple’s two oldest daughters, James (5) and Inez (3). Their youngest, Betty, for whom Taylor Swift named one of her latest songs, is not even a year old and probably isn’t holding markers or paintbrushes quite yet. But if her sisters have this kind of talent, she’ll surely take after them. Let’s just hope she doesn’t have to be decorating face masks in a pandemic by the time she’s their age.

Ryan and Blake don’t often share personal photos on social media, so this is a rare moment for them. Recently, they’ve both been speaking out about the Blake Lives Matter movement and the way they have plan to raise their daughters.

“We’re ashamed that in the past we’ve allowed ourselves to be uninformed about how deeply rooted systematic racism is. We’ve been teaching our children differently than the way our parents taught us…We’re committed to raising our kids so they never grow up feeding this insane pattern and so they’ll do their best to never inflict pain on another being consciously or unconsciously,” Lively wrote on Instagram on May 31; Reynolds posted the same message. “It’s the least we can do to honor not just George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and Eric Garner, but all the black men and women who have been killed when a camera wasn’t rolling.”

It seems like the Reynolds-Lively girls are well on their way to being thoughtful human beings. When can the rest of us expect to get our custom-made masks from James and Inez?
