Olivia Rodrigo popped on Instagram to deliver a major fashion moment last night—and pay tribute to her record-breaking debut album Sour in the process. The 18-year-old singer posed in a plaid DSQUARED2 mini dress with statement-making, fashion week-ready multi-buckle platform boots that appear to be from The Marc Jacobs.
Rodrigo used one of the lyrics from her song “brutal” in the caption, writing, “all I did was try my best.” Over 3.8 million people liked the post in its first 15 hours up, so that’s the kind of (ecstatic) thanks she gets:

Rodrigo’s album Sour has only been out for two weeks, but in its first week alone, it made history. According to Billboard, Sour set the record for most week-one album sales for any artist this year. It was #1 on the Billboard 200 in its first week too, a huge feat for any artist, especially Rodrigo, who has only just released her first album.
Rodrigo spoke to ELLE ahead of Sour‘s release about how songwriting has helped her figure out how she wants to present herself to the world more—and how vulnerability and honesty are at the center of it.
“I think songwriting has really helped me home in on what I like about myself and my art,” she said. “I just want to be effortless, I guess. Whether it’s in my fashion or my songs or my social media, I want to just be like, ‘Yo, this is me. And I’m sometimes weird as fuck, and I’m sometimes polished and put together.’ I think that’s the antithesis of a brand.”
