Find out which other big names people have been Googling.
Aside from easy pantry recipes, WFH outfit ideas and recommendations for fun activities to do during quarantine, one other thing people seem to have been Googling extensively during lockdown is their favourite celebrities. A new report by data trends provider SEMrush has compiled a list of the most searched celebrities since quarantine began.
Kylie Jenner received the top spot on the list with 450,000 Google searches after the reality TV star and beauty entrepeneur was spotted by the paparazzi in late April running a quick errand in a tie-dye sweatsuit, with no makeup (or shoes).
Next on the list is SpaceX and Tesla founder Elon Musk, who was searched over 300,000 times after he tweeted in early March that “the coronavirus panic is dumb.”
Tom Hanks, one of the first known celebrities with COVID-19, also made the list following his social media post announcing his and wife Rita Wilson’s test results, which garnered nearly 3 million likes on Instagram and another million on Twitter.
Stuck indoors like the rest of us, many celebrities have been livestreaming activities from home to their millions of followers, landing them on this list of most searched names during quarantine. Samuel L. Jackson, for example, shared a video of himself reading the new book Stay the F–k at Home; Arnold Schwarzenegger has been sharing videos of himself feeding his pet donkeys (yes, really); and Seth Rogen decided to live-tweet his experience watching Cats while stoned. We may be living through a pandemic, but at least we’re entertained.
