On her Instagram account, Kim Kardashian posted a photo with Scott Disick, the father of her nephews Mason and Reign and her niece Penelope, to announce that the family broke quarantine a few weeks ago to celebrate Disick’s birthday on May 26.

“We celebrated Scott’s bday a few weeks ago with just family and it was really my first time being around a group of people (small group),” she wrote. “It was kind of nice but kind of scary too. How is everyone feeling about being out and about?”

The family hasn’t exactly been staying away from each other since the global pandemic hit the U.S. and people began quarantine. In May, Khloé Kardashian TP’d her sister Kourtney’s lawn following a toilet paper scarcity at grocery stores across the country. Kris Jenner, whose grandchildren call her “Lovey,” hung out with Khloé and her daughter, True, at the pool at least once.

She also shared photos of herself with her sisters, her son Saint, her mom, Kris, and her cousin, Cici Bussey, who’s been fighting cancer for two decades and had a stem cell transplant three years ago.

It’s not clear how often family time in any form happens, though. Kim wrote that this was the first time she’s been with a group of people since she started her time in quarantine.

“Everyone is still staying at home,” a source told People in April. “The sisters and Kris took a few weeks total break from each other. Now, they practice social distancing, but Kim has had Kris over at the house a few times.”

The family is also filming their show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, separately from each other and are each handling their own camera work. Executive producer Farnaz Farjam told ELLE.com in May that the process of at-home filming has been “a big to-do” but that the family has learned to “make it work.”

“If Kris gets annoyed and walks out of the camera angle, it’s not like we can follow her and continue shooting,” she said. “She has to come back onto the screen and explain [why she walked away],” she said. “It’s less fly-on-the-wall, because we have to give them direction and they have to be more informative with us…But because this is the Kardashians and they’re entertaining regardless, it will be a fun watch for people.”
