While much of America took to the streets yesterday with their various noise-making items, celebratory shouts and screams, and creative signs, Jennifer Lopez took a moment to honor the emotional weight the historic Biden/Harris win had for our country.

“I’m just crying tears of joy,” Lopez said in the video, originally posted to her Instagram story, as the news played in the background. “I hope that we can all come together, love each other, and appreciate each other. It’s a new day. It is an amazing, amazing day. God bless, everybody.”

After she got all of her happy tears out, Lopez celebrated the day the best way she knows how: dancing. She posted this performance video with the caption, “SHMOOD! PRESIDENT BIDEN!!!!!!! VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS!!!!!!”

She, like many of us, celebrated yesterday with yummy food and drink at brunch. There is, it looks like, a rhinstone-studded monogrammed cocktail shaker in this photo, too.

On Saturday night, Kamala Harris gave a victory speech in which she addressed the women and girls of color in the U.S. who would be inspired by her win.

“But while I may be the first woman in this office, I will not be the last,” she said. “Because every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities, and to the children of our country, regardless of your gender, our country has sent you a clear message: Dream with ambition. Lead with conviction. And see yourselves in a way that others may not, simply because they’ve never seen it before, but know that we will applaud you every step of the way.”

For her part, Lopez has also been encouraging young Latina girls with her career and influence.

“I think it’s super important for two Latina women to be headlining the Super Bowl,” Lopez told the Los Angeles Times, ahead of her and Shakira’s performance earlier this year. “Especially right now in Trump’s America.”
