Inside Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Family Ski Trip

Prince William and Kate Middleton just took their kids on a trip to the French Alps, US Weekly reports. The family had been anticipating a fun getaway for quite some time, a source says, and that’s what brought them to Courchevel, France, during the Easter holidays.

“During the pandemic, George begged William to take him skiing once everything reopened and his dad made it happen,” said the source.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge saw their trip “as the perfect opportunity for family time” and that it “was a real family affair.”

The vacation took place in a chalet owned by a family friend valued at $5 million. The older kids, George and Charlotte, “had private ski lessons and practiced their French.” Ooh la la.

“Kate and William feel it’s important for the children to be multilingual,” the source explained. “Charlotte was racing down the mountain by the end of the holiday. She’s fearless! George was slightly more cautious, but they’re both great skiers and competed in fun brother/sister ski races. They had an absolute blast.”

There was even a fresh snowfall to enjoy despite it being early spring.

“The kids love playing in the snow — they had snowball fights and built snowmen with Kate and William,” the insider added. George and Charlotte might have been able to enjoy more grown up activities, but Prince Louis has not been forgotten. His 4th birthday is today, Saturday April 23, and they have festivities planned to celebrate.

“Now [that] Kate and William are back, they’re planning a fun-themed tea party for Louis’ 4th birthday,” the source says.

Despite their travels, the family of five were all here for Easter Sunday Service, but missed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s brief return to the UK to visit Queen Elizabeth before they headed to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games.
