If you’re stuck in an exercise rut, working out with a partner is a fun, simple way to diversify your at-home fitness routine. Next time you are about to queue up another Peloton class, think about grabbing someone from your household to try Jeanette Jenkins‘s latest Instagram workout with you instead.
The celebrity trainer shared seven partner exercises that don’t require any equipment — all you need is a friend or family member you’re socially distancing with and yourself! She teamed up with trainer and Olympic volleyball player Kim Glass to demonstrate the playful moves, which include jumping jacks, high fives, and even a bonus happy dance at the end.
Check out the exercises below and follow along with the video to try it yourself. Jenkins suggests doing 10-15 reps or 30-60 seconds of each move, and 2 to 3 sets of the whole sequence. Remember to take rest breaks if you need them!
- Squat with side plank
- Reverse lunge to single leg deadlift
- Jack and clap
- Plank hop overs
- Deadlift and shoulder taps
- Bent knee roll ups and high five
- Happy dance!
