On July 4, 1999, David and Victoria Beckham got married at Luttrellstown Castle on the outskirts of Dublin, Ireland, which sits on a 560-acre estate. Both celebrated their day by sharing photos on Instagram and reminiscing about their special day.

David posted a throwback montage of their time together and of footage of Victoria when she was Posh Spice.

“Well about 23 years ago I was sat in a room with Gary Neville and the spice girls were on the TV and I turned around to him and said ‘ohhhh I like that one in the little black catsuit’ 😄 who would have thought that all these years later we are celebrating 21 years of marriage and have 4 of the most beautiful and perfect kids.. Thank you & Happy Anniversary I Love You ♥️ @victoriabeckham,” he wrote.

“Happy Anniversary @davidbeckham ❤️❤️❤️ I can’t believe it has been 21 years since we said ‘I do.’ Four children, four dogs, so much laughter and I love you more each day. xxxxxx,” she wrote under her own montage.

On their big day more than two decades ago, Victoria wore two dresses. The first was a Vera Wang satin ballgown with a corseted top:

“We did throw a lot at it,” David said during the 75th anniversary edition of Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs. “We have renewed our vows since then and it was a lot more private, there were about six people there in our house.”

He also chimed in about those purple outfits: “Victoria’s was pretty nice. Mine, I’m like, ‘What was I thinking?’ I even had a top hat in purple. What was I thinking?”
