Britney Spears Has No Plans to Have a Las Vegas Residency Despite Speculation

Culture

Britney Spears visited Las Vegas this past weekend and fans were convinced she was hinting at plans to start performing again, at her own residency no less. But TMZ has since reported that the Instagram carousel of her fun out on the town with her fiancé Sam Asghari and best friend and agent Cade Hudson were just nice memories from her vacation.

Spears and her pals were put up at the new Resorts World Las Vegas, and it looked like they were definitely given the VIP treatment. The resort put up a giant billboard just to honor her presence, gave them the $15,000 a night suite, which came with a movie theater, all the free party masks she could ask for, and even a luxurious pool to themselves.

Sources close to the pop star’s getaway have said that Resorts World didn’t even bring up the topic of a residency with Spears while she was visiting, they just made sure she had a great time. That said, they’d apparently love to have her as a concert resident. It just doesn’t seem like that’s something that she wants right now.

Spears had a very successful residency at Planet Hollywood in 2014 and 2015. Her planned Vegas residency in 2018 at Park MGM notoriously never went through, which was connected to challenges Spears faced in her conservatorship. Now that she’s free of her dad’s oversight, Spears has a lot more say in where and when she might perform or make new music.

Though she teased the possibility of new music after her status under her conservatorship changed, Spears has been going through a lot since gaining her freedom. Recently, she posted that she and Asghari had experienced a miscarriage and lost their early pregnancy. She asked for privacy as they took the time they needed to recover and heal.
