Moose Knuckles collaborates with LA-based jewellery designer
Through a shared reverence for sisterhood, Canadian luxury outerwear brand Moose Knuckles has teamed up with Los Angeles-based fine jewellery designer Jennifer Meyer to construct a new expression of contemporary femininity. For Meyer’s first foray into women’s ready-to-wear, an 18-piece capsule of jewellery and coats — embellished with embroidered gems and her jewel drawings— captures her belief that jewellery can be more than an accessory.
Canada Goose goes Bape
Canada Goose and Boston-based streetwear brand Concepts have come together for yet another collection, and this time they’re tapping Japanese label A Bathing Ape (Bape). Born from three esteemed (though stylistically and geographically different) global brands, this new collection redefines tradition, painting Canada Goose’s heritage styles with a tint of edgy streetwear. As of December 4, the trifold collaboration’s unisex parka, bomber jacket, hoody and winter accessories will be available for purchase through each retailer.
Vault by Vans taps Canadian-born artist Geoff McFetridge for a collaboration
This week, footwear brand Vans delivered a collection brought to life by Canadian-bred and LA-based artist Geoff McFetridge. McFetridge’s signature vibrant and eclectic style is the star of the show on five different Vans silhouettes, which feature fabrics that mimic the artist’s favourite items: a shirt he wears while painting, his 20-year-old tote bag, his favourite pants and a pair of Vans purchased during a childhood trip to Japan.
Filippa K collaborates with Swedish designer Stina Randestad
Sustainable fashion brand Fillipa K is collaborating with Stinarand, the studio of acclaimed designer Stina Randestad. On December 3, the duo unveiled six exclusive bespoke garments that stray away from Fillipa K’s minimalist aesthetic, and use the brand’s archives of second-hand items as material for these new ones. “It illustrates that when you start with a high quality foundation, remade pieces can be luxurious and long-lasting,” said Randestad in a press release.
CDLP launches at Holt Renfrew across Canada
CDLP Mobilité is a luxury essentials line for men, crafted consciously using organic, regenerated and recycled materials. Along with its latest collection and campaign, the label is launching with a Canadian retailer for the very first time as it is now available in-store at Holt Renfrew in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, as well as online.
Prada repurposes an archived sneaker from 1990
Prada’s original America’s Cup sneakers were designed for the Luna Rossa sailing team in 1990, and the storied fashion house has just tapped into their heritage, as they do best, to release a line of shoes with the same silhouette, details and materials of the original style. Two different styles in various colours are available in a soft yet durable leather, with a lace design that was inspired by the sailing world.
Cosabella launches styles for the male body form
Italian luxury lingerie brand Cosabella is expanding its aim to be inclusive of all people. The label’s latest launch sees its signature intimates and sleepwear in new sizing categories beyond womenswear, paired with silhouettes reconstructed for body form rather than gender labels.
