Including the entrance of Ilia’s best-selling foundation to Canada, the lushest reusable faux lashes and a dreamy new Fenty Skin hand mask.
Fashion designer Lesley Hampton and Hudson’s Bay collab on beauty advent calendar
Filled with over 30 full- and travel-size beauty goodies from brands such as YSL, MAC, Nars and L’Occitane, this year’s holiday beauty calendar from Hudson’s Bay will not disappoint. To take it to the next level, the store partnered with Lesley Hampton to create the reusable calendar in the Canadian designer’s signature palette, along with design elements that reflect her Anishinaabe indigeneity, such as the Ojibwe expression Mino Bimaadiziwin, which translates to ‘the good life.’ With the sale of each calendar, 10 per cent of net proceeds will go to Hudson’s Bay Foundation’s charitable partner Indspire, an Indigenous organization which Hampton is especially enthusiastic about supporting as one of the organization’s past award recipients.
Ilia is finally bringing its mega-hit skin tint with SPF 40 to Canada
If you’ve quietly tucked away your facial sunscreen for the year, consider yourself upgraded. Canadian beauty brand Ilia has finally launched its super-successful liquid skin tint with SPF 40 in the Great White North. Differing FDA rules surrounding sunscreen have allowed the liquid foundation to become a best-seller in the U.S. since last year, and now Canadians can get their mitts on all 30 fragrance- and oil-free-shades. You can slather it on knowing your skin’s protected from UVA, UVB, infrared and blue rays thanks to its 12 per cent non-nano zinc oxide, while hyaluronic acid, hydrating squalane and niacinamide work to plump up your skin and even it out.
A must-have lip butter trio from Summer Fridays
This new lip butter trio from Summer Fridays is actually giving us all the fall vibes. The classic vanilla lip mask is perfect for taking up real estate on your night stand, while the coconut flavour and new limited-edition brown sugar balm offer up shine and a subtle tint.
Fancy Face’s new lush, reusable lashes are what bridal dreams are made of
Engagement season is calling, and this Canadian bridal beauty destination has answered. Fancy Face, which offers up the A to Z of wedding season services, has launched a new line of luxe lashes for the bride who still has a natural look on her wishlist. The cruelty-free, mink strips are handmade and designed with comfort and can be worn up to 25 times. To ensure they go the mile, the lashes (which would also make fitting bridesmaids gifts) come packaged in charming gem-shaped boxes for safe-keeping between all your impending champagne toasts.
A new hand cream from Fenty Skin that will totally transport you
Your manicurist called and she wants you to use this hand mask. Meant to work its best magic overnight, the mask is 40 per cent glycerin, a popular humectant that works to lock in moisture. Rounding out the sensorial magic are conditioning mango and murumuru butters, sorrel and melon oils and Riri’s favourite Barbados cherry extract. If all this has you thinking that you might just drift off smelling (and dreaming) of a tropical paradise, well, you’d be right.
