Thursday was the U.K. premiere of the new Princess Diana biopic, Spencer, starring Kristen Stewart as the princess. Stewart definitely looked the part walking the red carpet at the BFI London Film Festival in a glittery strapless Chanel dress.
The grey, semi-sheer skirt was stitched all over with sequins, and Stewart wore her bleached blonde hair down in a long bob. On her feet were a pair of Jimmy Choo open-toe heels.
Stewart has been wearing Chanel throughout the film’s press tour, beginning at the Venice Film Festival last month.
Spencer follows Princess Diana on the weekend she decides to separate from her husband Prince Charles, during the Christmas holiday of 1991. The trailer released last month shows Stewart as Diana saying of the Royal family, “There’s no hope for me, not with them.”
Later, she asks, “Will they kill me, you think?”

Stewart is playing across from Jack Farthing as Prince Charles who is best known for his work on the historical drama by the BBC, Poldark. In the trailer, Charles warns Diana in voice over that “there has to be two of you, there’s the real one and the one they take pictures of,” as his wife weeps on camera.
“Any picture or interview I’ve ever seen of her, there’s an explosive, ground-shaking quality to her that I always feel like you never really know what’s going to happen,” Stewart told Los Angeles Times. “Even when she’s walking the red carpet, it just feels a little bit scary. That could be projection, because we all know what happened. But she just has this feral cat feel. So I wanted to convey that. There’s no way to plan chaos. You just have to fall into it.”
