After a season cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic, I’m beyond overjoyed every time I watch college gymnastics in 2021. There are truly no limits to the creativity and talents of these athletes, as evidenced by Trinity Thomas’s floor routine. The University of Florida gymnast recently competed against LSU on Feb. 12 and walked away from the mat with a perfect 10.

Flawless routines aren’t anything new to Thomas, who earned plenty of 10s last year. This season, however, she challenged herself even further with unbelievable feats like an over-the-shoulder split and a casual double layout. Thomas is the fourth NCAA gymnast to reach this sought-after high score in 2021, and the second athlete to achieve it on floor following Kiya Johnson’s performance back in January. We can’t wait to see what Thomas achieves over the rest of the season and beyond as she sets her sights on the Olympics.
