Granola seems like a healthy breakfast option, but if you ever looked at the nutritional info on the package, it’s usually made with tons of sugar. Even if it’s “natural” sugar like maple syrup, honey, or agave, it still counts as added sugar, and the recommended amount of added sugar should be less than 25 grams a day (this doesn’t include fruit).

If you’re granola-obsessed but you’re trying to cut back on added sugars, make this two-ingredient granola made from just bananas and oats — that’s it! Plant-based chef Mario Fabbri of VeganRecipes on TikTok shared this super simple recipe that costs less than $1 to make per pound. And all you need is a dehydrator to create that crunchy texture you crave.

Just mash together one banana and one cup of oats and dehydrate at 135 degrees for seven to 10 hours. Fabbri said you can add other toppings such as crushed almonds or shredded coconut (yum!). There’s something so wholesome about eating your own homemade granola and this looks so easy! If you don’t have a dehydrator (like the Sahara one he uses), check your oven to see if it has a dehydrator setting.
