Jennifer Lopez is channeling her inner Spice Girl.

Yesterday, Lopez’s hairstylist, Chris Appleton, took to Instagram to show off his star client’s latest look. Clad in a fuzzy bathrobe, the singer and actress had her hair pulled up into ultra-nostalgic double buns, perfected with a middle part and two thick tendrils framing her face. Lopez paired the daring hairstyle with bold browns, smoky brown eye shadow, flushed cheeks, and a rosy pink pout.

“Spicy🌶 @jlo,” wrote Appleton alongside the behind-the-scenes snap, referencing Spice Girl member Mel B, who often wore her hair in the double-bun style.

This wasn’t the first time the superstar had sported the early aughts-inspired look, however. Last week, Lopez shared a throwback video of one her early performances of her hit song “Love Don’t Cost a Thing,” during which she was also captured wearing the funky hairstyle. For the vintage performance, Lopez wore a metallic silver halter top, black cargo pants, and her signature hoop earrings.

“LOVE DON’T COST A THING 🎤🎼 #TBT,” Lopez captioned the clip.

Though it’s unclear exactly which project, if any, Lopez was preparing to promote while in the chair with her longtime hairstylist, the superstar has remained thoroughly productive throughout the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. In recent weeks, Lopez has made new music (and videos) with Colombian superstar Maluma; released her latest DSW footwear collection; promoted her upcoming rom-com with Owen Wilson, Marry Me; and is gearing up to launch her makeup line, JLo Beauty.
