But for charity, they’re willing to give the world a glimpse at their relationship and Hadid’s pregnancy. (Hadid is expecting the couple’s first child this September.)
Hadid took a selfie of her and Malik for British Vogue to help raise money for the NAACP and NHS Charities Together (which supports the British health system during their fight against the coronavirus pandemic). The Dior saddle bag draped over Malik’s back will be auctioned off to raise money for the organizations.
As British Vogue explained in its Instagram caption, some of its “favorite models took part in a special project to raise money for @NHSCharitiesTogether and @NAACP. Dressed up in treasured pieces from their own wardrobes, they shared lockdown selfies, donating their featured items to British Vogue and @HardlyEverWornIt’s exclusive online auction.”

She spoke a little about their relationship during an Instagram Live makeup tutorial with Erin Parsons for Maybelline in late May. She detailed how Malik reacts to her when she comes home from a shoot, all made up by a professional makeup artist like Parsons.
“You know what’s so funny, is that I don’t think that he like, obviously when I walk in from work, can be like, ‘Oh that’s an Erin look,’ or ‘That’s like a Patrick [Ta] look,’ or whatever, but he does really love, like, he—how do I say it? He reacts the most excited when Erin does my makeup without knowing. He’ll be like, ‘Wow, you look amazing,'” she said.
“I think I have this knack for trying—I don’t necessarily try, I can’t help it, to do kind of ultra sexy [makeup looks] sometimes,” Parsons said.
“Right,” Hadid agreed.
“I don’t know why that is…” Parson mused.
“That’s so funny,” Hadid cut in. “I’ll be like, ‘it’s an Erin look.’ You’re his favorite makeup artist without knowing.”
“Really? Aww, Z!” Parson gushed.
“I don’t even know if he knows that, but I notice it,” Hadid said.
“I like what I do,” Parsons said. “Sometimes, I’m like, what do you think, Z? Does it look good? Just in case I can’t sell you on it, and when he says yes then I’m like, sold, sold. I won.”
“Although I don’t think he’s ever like ‘no,'” Hadid added.
“No, he’s never said no,” Parsons agreed. “I don’t think he would ever be mean like that.”
